Good company. Private feelings.
They know everyone's name. They get the conversation going. And when something really matters, they may tell just one close friend. Social ease and emotional openness are different kinds of access.

A full guest list is not a full diary.
The party question is about participation. The feelings question is about disclosure. A person can enjoy introducing strangers, making jokes, or starting a game while choosing a much smaller audience for their feelings.
That makes this overlap easy to miss from the outside. Being present in a conversation does not tell you what someone wants to share in it. A lively evening can be enjoyable without becoming a personal conversation.
The two private-feelings answers also deserve their own space. Keeping feelings inside is not the same as sharing with close people. We group them for this headline because both limit the audience, and the chart below lets you see each answer separately.

We start with 10,610 eligible completions out of 10,719 finished quizzes. Each has 20 distinct, recognized answers. For this comparison, 7,364 answered both questions. We select the first answer group, then count how many also chose the second set.
This is a voluntary online quiz, with public and invited results pooled together. A completion is not a verified unique person. The findings describe this sample and stated preferences, not the general population or cause and effect. Read the full method.
